I've heard of problems with meritline and supermediastore.
I recently ordered ritek's from supermediastore and it took 4 days before they even shipped out (+ questionable customer service). And last week ordered cases from meritline and have yet to even get a confirmation e-mail, nevermind shipping notice...
The Bestbuy deal looks pretty good though if you dont need printable discs.

Yup, those are exactly the experiences I'm trying to avoid.
As far as media... I'm looking for printable media. I checked out CompUSA (in store) and they only had DVD+R 8x.

I always check the ads in the Sunday paper. Usually you can find deals that beat online prices, and you avoid the shipping costs and the wait. Last week I got Sony 25 spindle of DVD-R's for $9.99(Actually Staples beat that price by 10% with there 110% price gaurantee). And this week CompUSA has the CompUSA 15 pack of DVD-R's for $4.99.

axlman - Printable DVDs & CDs can be placed in a printer like the Epson R300/200 and by using their special tray you can print the graphics directly on the dvd/CD.
Sounds like Rimas the way to go. Anyone else have any experience with them?

I decided to order the sample pack of printable dvd-r media from rima.com and supermediastore.com. Both were shipped via std ground.
rima.com sent me an order confirmation right away with another email with a tracking number an hour later.
supermediastore.com... nothing.
Both companys are in CA, so I'll see who delivers the goods first. I'll keep you guys updated.

Update: Supermediastore sent my shipping confirmation today.
Normally newegg.com would be my first choice, but their printable DVD-R selection is not as good as some of the other stores (They don't caryy Ritek or ProDisc media (DVD-R) and they don't have DVD cases, or printable inserts...)

I guess I should have checked them other stores out before I opened my big mouth... Opps..
Looks like Supermedia store has the best deals going, and they even have the Prodisc's I have been looking for I have used those disk's before and they work just as good if not better than the Ritek's everyone talks about. The Prodisc let's you print on the whole disk (Thats what I like about them). I am just so used to buying all my computer parts and other PC stuff from newegg with out any problems and there speedy service that I didn't even think to look elsewhere for media. Guess everytime I ordered some hardware I just always threw in some DVD-R's without giving it to much thought. Well I just went ahead and ordered 100 x8 White Printable Prodisc's. Now I know why I use this sight a lot. You really can learn something new everyday.. :-)
Thanks all

True New Egg is great. I've built 2 computers with 90% parts from them and they rock.
Their media is excellent too but selection kinda sucks.
Thats why RIMA is a good alternative with great service.
