"A disc with an unsupported format in drive g:".
Does anyone know what this means?
Brand new Piodata 108dx will not read off the shelf DVD's or DVD-R's.

It's obvious that none of want to try and be of any assistance, all you would rather do is whine about ""double posting"" la di da,
I'll leave you computer geeks to talk amongst yourselves about it.

Never returning!!

I'm sorry to sound like a busted record, but the young folks here are too impatient to spend a little time learning. How hard is it to read a few posts, maybe even read a few guides. I guess I ,,,, oh never mind,, now I sound like My Ole Man,,, lol

The rules are for everyone's benefit, it's unfortunate some people are like that. But it's refreshing to have guys like you all to restore my faith.

Welcome to AD if you haven't been welcomed already :>)

With do cause or without . . . . be honest . . . .

Be doubley honest, at the top of each and every forum where it says, as large as dRD could possibly make it, READ THIS FIRST Forum Rules: -
were you so short on time you couldn't be bothered reading them or did you think they didn't apply ?

I'm not writing this to come down on you, I read them when I joined and probably didn't post for something like 3 months - I asked because I truly would like to know why we have so many double, triple and quadriple-posters, pple who, it's obivous, didn't read a single thread before posting, pple who are working the "Free" I-Pod scam and pple, like our "pleasant" friend here who posts web-sites / emails -

If we understood why pple are doing this perhaps we might figure out a way for them to stop -

Any suggestions, comments ? Will you tell us (if you remember) how it was with you ?

People do it becuase they are lazy. I was looking over my thread history...and I can't figure out where I got shut down by you guys. Maybe it was on a different, long forgotten screenname??? Either way, I just thought of a really good idea. I'm gonna suggest to the main admin something like a keyword search before you can post. If you're topic post has the words "DVD", "PS2", and "backup" in it, it will do an auto-search for those keywords, and display the results. If the user still doesn't find the answer they were looking for, then they could continue with their post. I think that might eliminate some of the problems....at least with the n00bs.

What about a required reading of the rules and a box to check afterwards, before being allowed to join? It would take a newbie all of five minutes or less, then ignorance couldn't be an excuse because they checked the box. Just a thought.....
