Help with mortal combat online

Ive been trying repeatedly to get my back up of mortal combat online. Ive read it to my computer patched the mds once and the iso on anouther attempt with the game id using windip 1.7. Then burnt it to dvd using dvd decryptor. Help what am i doing wrong.It just freezes up at the online screen.

there is a separate .ppf patch at ps2ownz to fix that problem.

Is that only for the US version? or is it needed for the uk PAL version as well.
