I have a v1 ps2 with an older gen modchip that uses game shark I tried burning some ps2 dvd games but none seem to be working my older cd backups work but not the dvds any suggestions?

by the way I have used Nero and Alcohol 120% and have used maxell memorex verbatim and harmony dvd-r 4x and I always burn at 2x.
