Hi, I'm using DVD shrink right now to backup my DVDS, and I've noticed that the encoding rate has decreased drastically. I use to be able to encode at about 1000+kb/s, now, I'm encoding at the rate of 336kb/s. I've tried to go to system, and hardware settings to check the IDE channels. They are set at DMA or whatever. And I ran disk defrag and the rate is still at 300 kb/s.. Can anyone tell me how increase the rate backup?
Here are my specs- Celeron 700mhz, 192mb Ram, 30GB HD

i just had the same problem. Mine was becuase the secondary IDE channel was not set to DMA. So I had to uninstall it and reboot and let winxp reinstall it. Then everything was back to WARP speed. You may want to double check both IDE channels.
