hi, i use dvd DVD Decrypter to extract my games to the HD. Does it matter what speed it should read at? mine is currently reading at about 9X. Is lower reading the better?

no, read speed doesn't matter. Mine has gotten up to 14x.

cool, another question. Is it bad if you can hear the ps2's lense read? I did a comparison with a original and a burnt one of the same game. To me when i have the original in its quiet and you cant hear anything, but when i put in the burnt copy i can hear the ps2 read. Bad thing? im using memorex dvd-R, burining at 2x

memorex dvd-r are not very good. id try verbatim or ritek and see if you get the same results.
