Backing up PS2 games with Alcohol 120%

I'm trying to back up games using alcohol and slide magic. So far my first attempt was on madden 2005, the games works, but its rather skippy. I've read you should burn at 1x speed, however for some reason alcohol will not allow me to burn at anything less than 4x speed, which is what I used, any ideas???

Well the game might be skipping because the media of ur dvds are bad. What type of dvd media r u using. Also alcohol wont let u burn on anything less than 4x because that is what your burner is set to. You can probably get it to burn at lower speeds by flashing it with the proper firmware. You can get the firmware from the website where your burner is made.
