I download a dvd, got all these VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.VOB files with varying numbers, total file size 7.4 Gb.

Do i need to burn these onto a DVD+R so i can fit the whole thing, or can i do something to fit it on a normal DVD-R, or perhaps split it into 2 discs?

You will need to compress the files unless your writer supports duel layer.These links will help you learn how to compress the files and give you the tools to compress it with.

So, if i burn it to a dual layer dvd+r will i be able to play it in a normal dvd player? Also these discs are much more expensive so i will prob shrink down, what the loss of quality like when shrinking?
