DVD burner help required!

Hi,
I currently have on my system a DVD drive and a CDRW drive and I am hoping to replace my CDRW with the NEC3500 DVDRW drive.

My questions are:-
1) Does anyone know if the NEC drive will write RAW DAO(96) like my CDRW drive does for burning CD+G discs. (I can only find in the spec that it will read CD+G format but I am unable to find any info to see if it will write it).
2) If not can I retain my CDRW drive and replace my DVD drive with the DVD burner. (Someone I know seems to think that you can't have more than one writeable drive installed?).

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated
