So let's say I rip a DVD disk onto my computer using the various programs out there, and I end up with an ISO image... Can I use a CD [not a DVD] burner to burn the image to a DVD-R? Or do I have to use a DVD burner to burn to DVD-Rs?

Also, would the media type [-R / +R / +RW] make a difference?

Thanx

GF

You can also burn Blu-Ray with your CDRW if you flashed the BIOS with a new one!!!!!

No you can't. You need a DVD burner to burn DVDs. -R/+R are old and new formats. +R has slightly less compatibility with the older machines.

Thanks for the replies. I know this sounded like a dumb question, but I keep reading people online claiming you can back up PS2 and XBox games using a CD burner. I couldn't see how, but I guess they are mistaken.

gudfriday, you can, only some PlayStation2 games can be burned onto CD if they're stripped from the originals (usually very small sized, no music, no fmv) a.k.a. warez.

But again, no, you can't burn DVDRs with a CDRW. :)
