Am having trouble copying a James Bond disc with both CloneDVD and DVD Shrink. Looks like all the vob files are in the proper order, and yet still says error. This is the first disc that I've ever had trouble copying. Is there some other copy protection on these particular discs that I'm unaware of?

Try using DVD Decrypter to copy the files on to your harddrive and then open the files in DVD Shrink. Then you can shrink & burn them as per normal.

I decrypted the files to my hard drive. When i try to open the files in DVD Shrink.....I immediately get an error saying that it "Failed to open file C:\TWINE\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB". I know the file is there. Could there be something wrong with the from the disc, or am I still missing something?

Copy all the files to your hard drive not just the VOB files. In decrypter select "Mode" then click on "File F". Put all the files on your hard drive then open them in Shrink. You will be surprised :-)

If I examine the original disc in Windows Explorer, it shows 38 files present in the VIDEO_TS folder. I decrypted all those files to my hard drive....and yet nothing seems to work. DVD Shrink gives instant error message as described earlier. CloneDVD gives it's own error message saying "missing menu VOB file VIDEO_TS.VOB (Vobset 9 0 1 62912 63213 62912 TCE)". All 38 files are there. Any other ideas?

I never used Shrink till today....so I couldn't really say. Decrypter never seemed that slow to me. The slow down always seemed to me in Clone.

Ok Im not sure why it works like this but it works!! :-) Open up Shrink Click on "Re-author"
In the right window pane you will see a browser. Browse to where your movie is and then just drag the main movie into the left window. Now you can hit the "Compression Settings" tab and take out the unwanted sound and crap. Then presto hit back up. I could also do it in Nero recode but this is a little harder to explain and anyway Shrink only compress's it 16% with 5.1 sound. That was one I never heard or saw before but it is good to know in case I come across another one like that.. This should work for you if not give me a shout back. Hell give me a shout back either way I am curious to see if you got her working..

You can try it the same way. Just start dragging all the files from the right window to the left and give it a try it cant hurt. I'm glad it worked for you.

Menus will not function in re-author mode. You can drag them over, but if I remember correctly it will pop up an error/warning about menus being unable to function.

In full disc mode is there a folder called Unreferenced material(something like that)? If so, use the still image option for that folder and it should work.
