In answering your question there are 2 answers.
1. If the movie is recorded on the DVD in Widescreen you are stuck w/ it .
2. Now that is not really true unless you have the same editing programs that the TV Networks use to edit the movies so they will fit on your TV screen. Don't forget that they edit the widescreen movies so they will show as Full Screen on the TV's. So yes it can be done it just depends on how much $$$$$ you have.

I have a rather silly question -

Why would you wish to have full screen when the "widescreen shown you almost 30% more picture than the full screen ?

well, i want a full screen cause i like to see all of the movie on my 42 inch screen.....never did like the wide screen... just thought there might be a tool out there that can take out the widescreen and make it a full screen...but i dnt have the money the companies have..lol...

i know a lot of freinds and family..that want full screen instead of widescreen...it's my preferance for sure :O))

lol....i just cant handle watching wide screen, cause i dont want to see the stretched out back ground of furniture...trees...or studio back drop......i like focusing on the main characters... ..and on widescreen...they look dwarfed <grin>........i just cant see the attraction to widscreen

well, i did find a program that will convert widscreen to full screen....it's called dvd-lab...but i also found that...i can just go to settings on my dvdplayer....and set the screen to 4:3..which will play the full screen...that way you can always change it back to 16:9 to veiw wide screen :O))

A true full screen is panned and scanned. If you see 2 people talking, one person will be shown and the frame will slowly slide over and show the person who is responding. By using the 4:3 setting in your tv or dvd, you will be stuck with a person talking to no one! Best bet, buy a widescreen tv,get your movies in widescreen, buy a surround sound system and get blown away.

Sorry, I was getting too excited here.Calm down bigwop, calm down

I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.
