I am looking for a software program that will only PLAY dvd movies. I know dvd shrink will encode them but i am looking for something that you can pop in a disk and go thru all the features that you could with any dvd players.

Dvd Shrink wont allow me to choose from the main menu of movies,, it gives detailed items. Anyone know of a free program to simply play movies or regular dvd's?

Windows Media Player is free and plays dvd movies. PowerDVD is excellent but is not free unless you get it bundled with your burner or something.

Most purchased dvd movies have a player software at the beginning of the dvd. usuall it is called Interactual player (not sure of the spelling). It will usually ask if you want to install the player. Its not the best player around but it works and its free.
