Can you burn to dvd-r disc with cd-rw drive?

i couldnt get my movies to fit in cd-r/w and i am trying to buy dvd-r discs and burn movies with cd-rw drive to the dvd-r is it possible that you can do that?

No - you need a DVD burner.

- CD R/RW has capacity of 800 M Byte of data, DVD capacity is 4700 M Byte of data.
You are talking apple and orange here.

- what is the format of your (original) movies ? if it's a DVD format then you are on the right forum.
if it's a VHS or VCD format then you are in a wrong forum.
