Burning DVD-5 over 120mins with Nero Express

Hello everyone,
I would appreciate it very much if anyone could tell me why a video DVD-5 i burnt would only play up until 117mins even though I had compressed all the video files to fit onto the DVD-R (4.35GB) and all the video files had been copied onto the DVD-R.
How do I solve this problem?

You ran out of room. Even tho DVD 5 says 4.7 they really only about 4.35-4.37, 4.35 is awfully close. I set all of mine at 4300 or even 4280 to leave a little space at the edge. This also helps protect the disc from fingerprints, which over time can cause damage to the files.

i have sorted out the problem now, when I back up the files as ISOs and then burn them the DVD-Rs play til the end. If theyre burnt as VOBs they only play til 120 minutes
