I have been backing up games on to Imation DVD+R, Verbatim DVD+R and Sony DVD+R. I have backed up
about 5 games with no problems. They run perfectly
everytime I bootup. After about the 6th time, they
completely won't bootup at all!. I have tried for about 1hr and they will not bootup as the error
screen comes up. I have no idea which chip I have installed as I bought the PS2 second hand, but there is one installed as it will play backups. The funny thing is when I try 4 to 5 days later, it will bootup first go and again the same cycle will happen.

Is the media I am using shit?
Is it my modchip?

Please help ASAP!! Thanks

try different methods of booting them.

I found with my swap magic it wont boot until i go to the browser screen and then put the disc, i select it and it runs perfect.

PS2 is very tempramental :(

try also changing the position of the PS2, i find mine reads better when it is lying down as opposed to standing vertical....

have you tried cleaning your lens? also if they dont reboot after the six time perhaps your fan is not working or you need to turn it off every now and then.
but definitly clean your lens.

oh yeah you probably need to refresh your toc by running an original game pref a large one that will work.

Thanks for the tips Gillies & Drifty. How do you refresh your TOC and which game(s) would be ideal
to do so. Also would a CD-R Cleaner work to clean
the lens? Thanks.

gta games are large also dont know about the cdr cleaning i took my ps2 apart and used meths and cottenwool buds, its easy
