Do regular DVD discs work for a British format DVD

I need to make a copy of a DVD for someone who has a British format DVD player. Do the American discs work on British DVDs if they are formatted properly?

Hey chris3881,You'll probably want to make sure you make that backup region free. DVD Shrink does this for me on all my backups.That should play on a british dvd stand alone player. You might want to take into consideration of that stand alone player that is going to play that backup may not play it.Using a high quality media and a slower burn usually takes care of these problems.Don't risk using a cheap,generic media if you have to send the backup oversea's.Hope this helps you out,bye
