Hi Guys,

I wanted to backup some data with my new Lite On & Nero 6.6.

I can burn the data ok (and finalising the session), but when I attempt to read the same disk in my DVD-ROM - it doesn't work, yet it is readable from the Lite On burner...

Any ideas?

What is the make and model of both drives?

What media does the DVD ROM support?

Have you updated the firmware in your drives?

I'm not sure how important the drive types are as this should be a Nero issue?

Anyway:
DVD ROM: _NEC DV5700A
DVD Burner: LITE-ON DVDRW SOWH-1653S

Nero - I only have smart start installed as I am not interested in the other stuff - version 6.6.0.3

Have I updated the firmware? No - I knew I needed to...

Try a slower write speed, and see if the disc can then be read on other devices. But firmware is critical, so you should make sure you have the latest for your recorder.

Does anyone know where to find the firmware updates for the NEC DV5700A?

All I can find is questions in other forums asking the same thing (and not getting a response).
