ok i installed the fliptop cover for v4 on my v4 ps2. i put in a original and it say reading. but i could hear it spin and i t also sounds like its banging something so it say disk read error

are you shore you inserted the disc correctly as i have the same ps2 version and just installed my fliptop this week as well. All is fine with it. Double chick that you have installed it correctly and that when you insert the disc, make sure it spins freely. Then give it a go. Did you put the original in by opening the fliptop or the eject tray? Mine wont load from eject tray but only by fliptop. Try that as well.

well actually now sometimes it boots my originals but never had any sucess with the swap magic disc. Also swap magic disc's supposed to have lines on them like where the ps2 reads

well now i just tried itr and it boots originals fines no clicking noises. BUT when i put in a swap magic disc it clicks alot and say disc read error and when i open up i see the red laser on originals but not on swap magic

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the swap magic discs are supposed to have lines in it(prevents it from being copied)

Try loosening the screws that you installed the fliptop with. If you put them in to tight it will do that and other strange things.

my friend had the same problem thats all you have to do just when your tightening the screws make sure that they are just "flush" so that it won't put as much pressure on the tray as it is now.

Thanks i loosened them and they work now. Also the place where the white disc thinkg goes on broke so im just putting the disc on the game when its in. is that ok

hmmmm.... not too sure what is wrong are you sure your putting the right swap magic disc in and not the one for the cd? also make sure that it can load corectly before you switch so that it can play the burnt game.

it could be that ur lens got a bit dirty after takin it all off, happened 2 me b4. All i did was dip a cotton swap in ispropyl alcohol (rubbin alcohol) n damp it out a bit then wipe the lens with it.now no more disc read errors

the lens is there wen u open the flip top cover, jus give it a wipe wit alcohol wit a swab, n see if that works. Also make sure u got a lil magnet on that white disc. Try putting a lil book on top of the flip top while its running

What is stopping the disc from spiining with the fliptop is the spring box that holds the fliptop. I had to raise my back-end of fliptop case by putting little bushings on the back screws. That raised up the whole backend so the box would not rub againest any discs. Also, standing up the ps2 helps out too.
