i'm extremely new to this. i used my friend's computer to burn dvd's using dvd xcopy. i bought the platinum version for myself and now its telling me i can't backup css encrypted dvd's. where do i go from here and did i waste my time with dvd scopy?

It would have been helpful if you stated which verison you were using.

You should have started with the free stuff DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.
