Can someone tell me if its possible to backup an original Swap Magic DVD 2.0? I've tried DVD decrypter, but I get an I/O error message.

But isn't the Magic swap dvd equivalent to a copy protected movie dvd, or a copy protected ps2 game dvd? Whereas those can be decrypted, why can't the magic swap be decrypted (just wondering)?

It can be done by using CloneCD V5 and up it has Dvd support.The only problem is that it won't self boot,which means it really can't help the swap magic discs since they have to be self boot discs.

ok thanks, so should I assume there isn't a software out there that can mimic the original (including making it capable to self boot)....i'm curious to know how the dvds are coded tell the ps2 what is and isn't original.....

Nah not unless you can afford to buy a pressing machine,and the discs for it.The PS2 discs are made from a pressing machine.A dvd writer is not able to produce a self boot disc for PS2,it is a different technique used for disc duplication.
