Can EA sports games backups be played with out patching the DNAS code

Yes. As long as you don't want/intend to play online. I don't play online and my backups play no problem.

Yes, in single player. You only need to patch DNAS if you intend to play online.

Bare in mind that if you do not patch the DNAS you may notice slight performance issues in cutscenes. EG- Fifa 05 without DNAS, the sequences before Goalkicks and the like is a little sluggish.

Other than that, gameplay is absolutely fine.
