Hi,

I had this happen once before and could not figure out what was casing the problem so i just formatted the drive, now it has happended again i am reluctant to format again as this is a complete pain.

The Problem

Ripping with either DVD Shrink or Clone DVD has come to a grinding halt, where by before i would get around 40k per seconds rip/reencode with DVD Shrink i now get about 1-4k meaning it will take 18 hours to encode a 4.3GB DVD as opposed to the usual 1hr.

Rencoding is just as slow with CloneDVD.

DVD Ripping with DVD Decrypter is fine with no change there it is just the rencoding part.

Also rencoding with CCE & TMPGEnc is also fine and maintains the same speed.

Now im sure this has gotta be caused by some piece of software i have installed but i dont have a clue what this could be.

I have also checked to make sure DMA is still enabled and it is so im a little stumpted.

Have also defragged checked for virus and spyware and all fine on this front.

One person has said it could be related to SP2 under XP but im sure i have used DVD Shrink since i installed this.

Anyone else had this problem or know how to rectify it ?
