I need help with burning a DVD-R

My friend has a dvd burner and so do I. I borrowed some of his burnt dvds. I have burnt quite a few dvds before but already burnt copies wont work for me. I have downloaded dvd shrinker and dvd decrypter. When ever i try to open the disk in the dvd shrinker it keeps saying error. I heard you can do it threw dvd decrypter or something. What do I do.
(We both use dvd-r)

If you are trying to copy already burnt copies you should use directly Nero and select the Copy Dvd option. That should work.
