My friend has a dvd burner and so do I. I borrowed some of his burnt dvds. I have burnt quite a few dvds before but already burnt copies wont work for me. I have downloaded dvd shrinker and dvd decrypter. When ever i try to open the disk in the dvd shrinker it keeps saying error, failed to read file E:\ Data error (cyclic redundancy check). I also tried putting it in my other drive but that didnt work either. What do I do? Is it possible to burn these?
(We both use dvd-r)

I am not an expert like some of the people here on shrink, but if I am not mistaken the cyclic redundancy error is due to the original dvd is scratched or dirty. Sometimes it is due to a bad factory pressing & is not easily overcome.
If I were you i would look at the shrink forum on this site. Any advice given by Scubapete is tops, as he is the shrink Deity on this site.

You will not need DVD Shrink to make a copy of a copy.
Unless your friend is using dual layer discs, the copy is already been shrink.
cyclic redundancy check
Your drive is not reading the disc, try cleaning it.
Next .. Try these settings for DVD Decrypter.
First, it should be version 3.5.1.0.
Open Decrypter, click on Tools,then Settings
Click on Defaults, then select these;
General tab
Options - Removal Method - Aggressive
File Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)
ISO Read Mode tab
Options - Remove PUOs (IFO and/or VOB)
CSS tab
CSS Cracking Method - Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange
On Failure - Yes
IMPORTANT:
I/O tab
Options - Ignore read errors.
This is an excellent setting for dealing with scratched discs which may cause ripping problems.

Theres just one big problem i still cant do it. It wont work. Can you please help me. Do you have any guides. I'll explain what i need help with...
I'm trying to burn already burnt dvds. First i'm backing them up on my computer using dvd shrinker but that wont work it keeps saying error. So I tried ripping with the DVD Decrypter. It starts to rip but when it gets near 50% It just comes to a complete stop due to read errors it just keeps on retrying. What can I do? All i want is to put it on a blank dvd-r and have good quality. The burnt dvds im trying to burn have labels on them. Could this be the reason as to why they dont work?
