I have a Benq Dual Layer +- Burner. Nero 6 refuses to recognise the dual layers disks.. it thinks they are CD-R ?? It is ok with 4.7Gb DVD's but not 8.5 Gb.

I tried using DVD Shrink to burn via Nero also and that also won't work, same problem

Anyone know what problem is?

What version of Nero are you using? Mine ver 6.6.0.3 works fine on DL media.

Nero 6.0.0.11

Is that too old?

Yes I have a funny feeling it is too old, the 6.3 version is newer than yours, I think that had DL capabilities. I know the latest (6.6.0.3) has DL compatibility

It also has recode, i.e. compression, as a welcome addition. No need for shrink! I have done "I, Robot" on the fly with Nero recode, it worked a treat.
I will continue to experiment with it. On the outside it does look to be a very capable piece of software. You can even make "flipper" discs (Goodfellas, prime example) onto one disc.
NICE
Very, very nice.

Just out of interest how are you managing to copy on the fly I-Robot by just using Nero ? Do you not have to decrypt it first (or are you using a copy ?)..just curious.......

Im not sure how he is doing it on the fly but I do mine using AnyDVD. As long as it is loaded your PC recognizes disc's as if there was no encryption :-)

Thanks for that - it's useful to know - I normally use DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter.
