Why do you have to burn a DVD-R using 1X and not 8X??I burn my CDS using Maximum Speed (40X) and they work perfectly.

it isnt that they dont work at 40x its that if you dont burn them at a slow speed the lazer on your ps2 gets worn out eaisily and its £50 to get it fixed. thts what i heard anyway

and also, when you burn at a higher speed, there is a higher risk of it not burning properly
