Being the owner of a widescreen tv, I find watching non-anamorphic widescreen dvd's annoying (ie having black bars top, bottom & both sides). Zooming the screen is not the best answer. This is where DVD-RB/CCE comes in. It does a fabulous job of converting 4:3 to 16:9. But not all widescreen movies it seems are 16:9. Fahrenheit 9/11, for instance, is something in between, perhaps 14:9. It would be nice if DVD-RB had this option. Is this something we can do or does jdobbs have to add this option to DVD-RB?

You can change the resizing within the .AVS files created by DVD-RB -- but it can be tedious, as there can be a lot of them.

Please remember though, that the DVD standard only support one of two aspect ratios (16:9 or 4:3). Any other aspect must either have bars at the top/bottom, or have video removed from the sides.

Thanks jdobbs, now I know. Given that DVD-RB does a better (and more convenient) job than the tv zoom button, I was just hoping that DVD-RB could be used instead. Cheers.

Editing the AVS files can be done a little easier with RB-Opt (it can change several at once) but you still have to do some work figuring out what the dimensions are so you can crop the top and bottom before you resize.

You can also do it to all the AVSs by adding a line in the Filter Editor in RB.

True, but for many movies that will cause problems because there will be some titles that shouldn't be resized.
