Well I have pieced together several different instruction sets on making an exploit and for the most part have it down. However, when I insert my trigger disk (PS1 Rage Racer SLUS_004.03) All I get is a black screen. I figure it is either the title.db file or the system.cnf, in the mc/0/badata-system folder, that is incorrect.
As for the title.db, here is what I have when I open it in notepad..
???=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXX...
PSX.EXE=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXX...
PSXMAIN.EXE=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXX...
SCUS-943.00=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXX...
PSXMAIN.exe=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXXXX...
SLUS-900.01=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXX...
SLUS_004.03=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,XXXXXXXXX...
There is some other characters along the bottom but I think that is the important stuff. Does this look right?
Now as for the system.cnf, common sense is telling me this is where the problem is.. when I open it in note pad this is what it says..
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\BOOT.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC
This is the system.cnf file that is in the FILES folder of the CDGenps2v2 program, so it also should be the one that is installed in the mc/0/badata-system upon exploit install, correct? If that is the case then shouldn't the file read..
BOOT2 = mc0:\badata-system\BOOT.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC
It would seem to me that the way it is now, it would be looking for the boot.elf file to be on the cdrom instead of on the MC.
What do you guys think? What does your system.cnf file say that is located in your mc\0\badata-system? Am I totally off base here? Any help is greatly appreciated!
