If you plan to use the LiteOn SOHW-1633S don't use Ritek G04 dye media, I have and have only 'ever' burned unreadable DVDs.

Make up your list of the 1 that meet the following
1) can burn at 1x
2) not cyberhome (i work at target and tons of ppl have returned this cyber home brand crap)
3) can read n burn dual layer (they're cheap so y wouldn't invest in them)

i use ritek G04, it works fine so far, burned at 2x.
i got a v4 ps2. but some game(e.g. smackdown vs raw,nfs:ug2) only work on my friend's PS2 that he just brought. i think not all games work on v4.
