memorex VS Ridata?

Was wondering some opinions on Memorex 8X DVD+R's vs the Ridata branded?

which is better for a Liteon 16X dual layer?

I don't know about Ridata, but I've been using Memorex 4x and 8x DVD+Rs and I haven't made a single coaster yet. Also, compatibility with my standalone dvd player and PS2 is flawless. My burner is NEC, though.

I would suggest that if at all possible, stay away from memorex. The problem is that they brand every manufacturer under the sun as their own, and most of what they brand is crap. The ritek ridata is very good media, easily superior to memorex.

Yes, stay away from Memorex. You can expect about a 50% failure rate with some batches. You never know what you are getting.

Use the very best media. Taiyo Yuden TY02 and Ritek G04 are the two best one can purchase. Taiyo Yeden cost $0.48 per disk and Ritek cost $0.42 per dish.
Why use anything else. These top two will not give you any problems. Robert

If they show as Ritek you should be OK with that batch. The bad ones usually show as CMC Mag. But as I stated you never know until you buy them which company made them.
