I have successfully backed-up plenty ps2 games with nero6, but recently I had a game that was to big for dvd-r. Will dvd decrypter help this? Never had this problem before.

I just select copy to copy under dvd section. Write at lowest speed, should be 1x. I only had 1 game out of 5 not work, because it was too large for dvdr.

copying with Nero using "on the fly" is risky, .i would expect to achieve 100% success rate.its ok if the original is in good condition.
dvd decrypter will not help if games are over 4.7gb,you will need dual layer dvd's,burnt using a dual layer burner.or you can split them over 2 dvd's.
the safeist way is to produce image onto hardrive, then burn image onto disc.
you do not use DVD Shrink to copy ps2 games.

I'm not sure about Nero, but with A-120 if you have a game that has alot of memory, you have to increase you computers drive space. If you don't you will recieve an error and your disc is a coaster and you will have to start the image burn all over again. Does anyone out there know how to burn a ps2 backup? if the disc color is blue? what do I do? it does'nt say anything about being dvd, just cd, and a cd-r did'nt work.

I have a dual layer burner. put the guy game on a DL dvd+r. burn was successful, however ps2 won't play it. I think it would have to be split on 2 dvd-r disks. but I don't know how to do it. if anyone knows please could you post it.

Had the same prob with The Guy Game...way too big. I use Alcohol 120% and I've only ever had that prob with one other game...can't remember which off the top of my head.

I rememeber that I found a vague reference on cdburners.com, or some such site that mentioned that it either required a certain type of "ripping" or that it wouldn't be burnable until the new DVD format and discs were available. At any rate, Guy Game and the other wasn't worth the hassle, so I just let it be. Although I would be interested in the solution, if anyone does find the time to find the fix.

Cheers

If you searched and read the tutorial that is in the General PS2 section you would have had your answer...

Again searching is the key here too. I think I am going to have to start removing threads again as well as removing hi-jacked threads. People really need to read the rules....
