computer freezes while encoding but only with movies, not TV episodes

I started out using decrypter and shrink to copy some TV series and they burned fine. Then I tried to burn some movies and my computer gets slower as it encodes with dvd shrink. It gets to anywhere between 5% and 60% and then the computer freezes. I went back and tried some more episodes and they worked fine. I tried many movies. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?
