Here is what I have done. I have ripped and saved an image on to my hard drive with dvdripper. Using another program, i copied the dvd to a dvd+rw. If I play the movie on my computer, it works fine. But it does not work on my home sony dvd player. I have tried troubleshooting this problem and I am stuck at this time. Is there a boot up code to start the movie on a dvd player? Please help....
Try doing it this way........but you'll need the following software which can be downloaded for free.
DVDdecrypter
IFOedit
Nero (or ay other dvd burning software)
First rip the original DVD movies to your hard drive using DVDdecryper. Rip it as a "File" and not as an image or ISO. Make sure you sellect the whole content of the DVD.
once you have the files on your HD, open up IFOedit. If the entire DVD that you ripped comes less than 4.3 Gigs, then all you have to do is set the "region free," remove "Popups", and the "Get VTS"
After that, all you have to do is burn it back to a blank DVD Disc. Now you should be able to play them on you stand alone DVD players. (Note: some DVD players won't play these back up DVD's but for the most part they should)

Thanks, I will try that this weekend. I have all three programs after looking through the forums the past week. This looks like it will help with the larger sized dvd's that are 8 or 9Gig. I have been using DVDXcopy and it works great for older dvd's that are less than 4.5G.

Are you using IFOedit .95?
That is the only download I could find.
yes, I am using IFOedit095. I believe this is the most current version right now. As for copying DVD's with over 4.3 gigs, IFOedit will surely help. The thing about IFOedit is you just need to get to know some of its usefull features like "Split DVD" and "Create IFO's"
It is also great for stripping out stuff that you don't need like those trailers and extra features. I also bought DVD X COPY but after using it for a couple of times, I still find using DVDdecryper, IFOedit, & Nero the best for me. It does take a little more extra work but it works perfect for me. Plus, DVD X Copy still has many issues they need to address before it can truly become the perfect DVD backup program.
