What I meant was if you tape tool C down and I close the lid, the tool will want to 'pop up', but can't due to the tape. I hear a click when it pops out, so I wonder if the tool won't break, the tape won't rip or the tool to mess something up in the console, which I don't see!

Or can someone explain what tool c does and why the thing pops up? Because I can't see why it does that, must be something in below the gap that causes the 'pop up'.

Thanks, D.

Actually I think it is the spring that may cause the popup problem.

Tool C rests in the groove that the arm of the spring for opening the lid rests in. My thought is that the arm clicks under the edge of the tool when closing (causing the noise) and then lifts the tool as the lid opens. I know this was happening to me. But with the tape, the arm cannot get underneath the tool and lift it out. I'm just not sure why only a few are having this problem, maybe we are doing something wrong? I don't know.

If you are talking about the Magic Switch then you should also know that you can not play games with the door opened!!!

i wouldn't go near my ps2 with a glue gun!!
The parts of my slimtool slotted in perfectly, i know there is a slight alteration you can make if you are having difficulty with one of the pieces going slimtool.co.uk, has a photo of it on the instructions page i think. i prefer the slimtool to the magic switch, it was a bugbear having to play my ps2 with the lid open. Slimtool rocks.

I had to tape down both tool A and tool C. Tool A is too big for the hole on my PS2, so it wouldn't stay down. I had to cut a little bit off like it says in that french site. But still it won't stay down by itself, so I've had to put some tape on it. And my lid also has a little bump in the corner where tool A is. But I've also bought a magic switch so I think I'm gonna use a combination, because tool A looks better on the magic switch, although it has to be taped down.

had my slimtool a couple of weeks now, working like a charm, and the swap magic v3.3 hasn't had a problem loading any of the back ups i have tried.
slimtool.co.uk has a new look to it now, dont know if i like this one or the old style.what do you think?

Does the slim tool work with games which require a swap? For instance, Star Ocean: Till the End of the Time (2 DVDs) and Xenosaga Episode II (supposedly 2 discs)?

And is the slim tool removable?
