Hey, I've been burning movies for a while.. and have recently come across a problem. Some of my dvd's skip at different parts.. they will no longer play straight through. I used DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink to burn at 1X with the 'deep analysis.' I burned Mean Girls a week ago, it played perfect, straight through, then I burned Anchorman, and it skips. Is there anything I can do? Im using the same media. Any other programs? Help please. Thanks!!

the laser in some LapTops optical drives becomes misaligned now and then. its common. my laptop's burner worked fine for a lone time and then the movies wouldn't play straight through. thought it was my DVD player at 1st. with an external drive everything burns fine.

Most likely due to use of poor quality media.

Try Ritek's Verbatim or TY's.

Cheap low quality media = nasty, inconsistent results.

What do you keep your burned movies in? Ive been keeping mine in a cd notebook... but I think it might be putting tiny scratches on the bottom of my dvds??

For cheap media check out some of these.

I've never had a problem with Ridata or Legacy
If you don't mind using the 4X media you can get quite a bargin.
Edit: if your burner supports 8X or greater this one is in the sweet spot of speed and price.
