Wierd Halo2 LAN Prob

Hey, i have halo2 backed up to my HDD,
this isn'ta huge problem since i can use my disc but whenever i boot halo2 from my hdd and try and connect to a lan either local or through XBC it either freezes during the loading sequience where the bungie logo comes up or freezes at the system link searching for games screen,

i would like to figure this out.
