I am having trouble making back ups of my ps2 games. I am using dvd decrypt to read and then to write. It all works ok when I write the file to my dvd+rw disk. I do this before putting it on my dvd-r disk to make sure it works first. But when I put it on my dvd-r disk I make coasters. I burn at 1x to make sure it will work but for some reason as soon as I put it on the dvd-r disk it wont work. I am using memorex dvd-r 4.7 gb 120 min 4x dvds , any help?

I've always used Memorex DVD-Rs to back up my games. The only thing that I can think that I do differently is to use alcohol to burn the image. I haven't had any problems, unless it was something stupid that I did. Try using Alcohol 120% to burn it and again, burn at a low speed (1X or 2X).

Thanks for the reply.. I downloaded alcohol trial version and still it wont work. Cant seem to change the record speed on it? Maybe because its a trial version? Any how I make another coaster

I'm no expert, but could be that you have a picky ps2.

You could try using DVD+R instead of -R?

Or try another brand.

Sounds like you're doing everything right to me, so must be something to do with the media...

I cant understand why they are burning ok on the dvd+rw and not on the dvd-r?

Also the MAX you want to burn is 2.4x to
