whenever i try to set the read speed with dvd decryptor, i wont read at that speed itwill go back to the maximum speed it reads, what could be the problem here, i wanna read san andreas at 1x and burn it at 1x..

read speed doesn't matter. GTA is one of those games where you need to use very good media like verbatim.

this is my theory so don't believe if u dont want to.
First the drive will read very fast because it read from the inside, so u might be able to get max speed right at the beginning, then it comes out further. Once the laser reaches the end of the disc, the speed will be slowest since the laser arm cannot move very fast i guess in such large radius in compare to moving in a small radius right at the beginning.

sorry, but your theory is not correct. The drive reads faster as it moves towards the outside edge of the disc.

Cuteperv, the drive spins at the same speed for the entire read. Therfore at the start (small circle) it reads much slower then at the end (big circle) think of it as gears on a mountain bike

sly says it read faster at the outter edge of the disc, so the disc must be read from the out side to the inside then. isn't it?

no, the outside of a disc spins faster than the inside, so it reads faster on the outside.

yes, i'm just trying to find out how a disc is read. Is it from the outside to the inside, or inside to outside?
