ok, i just go a dvd burner and im trying to burn a dvd. i got a movie and converted it to a mpeg1 file. when i use nero i dont know which thing to burn it with. and when i just pick one ill play the dvd in my player and it wont read the disc.

I thought movie files had to be mpeg2 ??
Perhaps check that out, it could be your problem.

no i have a movie on my computer and its an AVI, so i converted it to an mpeg1. then tried burning

You need to use NVE Nero Vision Express this will put your file into the right format which is by the way actually Mpeg2 not 1

does it matter what speed i burn it at or will all of them give me the same results

Burn at 4x seems to be the general concensus on this forum.
Try that and see, perhaps use a RW so as not to waste your good media.

anyone there,
i am trying to burn a dvd and when i enter the blank dvd-r cd it wont read the cd.

I have used WinAVI Video Converter To convert my AVI files to DVD format and then I use Nero to write these to the DVD DISC.

well i tried burning it and it stopped in the middle of burning it. i tried to play the part that was burned on my dvd player but that didnt work either
