When opening a disk on dvdshrink it is taking about 2-3 minutes. In the guide it says "This will make less than 30 seconds in most of the cases if you have relatively modern hardware in use"

also when converting it to ISO (or MDS in my case as im using FAT32) it is taking around 1hour 15mins. in the guides pic it is only taking 42minutes. and has an encoding Rate of 3.1mb/s when mine averages at about 1.5mb/s

I have a P4 3Ghz and 1GB RAM... i see these being 'relatively modern' so does any1 know why it is running so slow or had this problem themselves?

Cheers,
Matt

Is the DVDs coming out right? If so i wouldnt worry about it. It really depends on the size of the disc. Some do it in 30seconds if its a true DVD5 others take 2 to 5 minutes if its a DVD-9 Loaded. Same with compressing the DVD. Some take 40 minutes some take up to 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Same here, some movies take WAY longer. Most the time it takes 30 minutes to finish one dvd. I am doing some Disney movies right now and it says 3 hours for two of them. I dont know why it takes soooo much longer.

To do a system reformat...You must use the disk that came with the pc....Meaning the windows disk....Put it into your drive and restart pc......If u get the black screen like i do all the time their will be lots of letters on it....wait for it to say boot off disk if it does click enter....Or it might do it by itself

DVD Shrink is extremely slow. I would recomend not using it if at all possible. I use DVD X Copy to backup all my movie. It takes about 45min. to an hour to compress and burn a movie. Haven't had any problems with it yet.

If your certain all your hardware is in good working condition then make sure you don't have any spyware, thats a real killer in the time department most of the time.

I use CloneDVD2, and also Nero Recode. They both take up to 35 minutes.

So many games, so little time.

keizsa, please edit out your Nero serial # in your burn error report. Starts out as 1A20-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx

You are using maxell -4x yellowtops-mxlrg-02.
[WHY DO I ALWAYS GET THIS ERROR ?] Burn process started at 6x (8,310 KB/s)

Sounds like you may have to reduce your backup target and burn speed in DVD Shrink. Reduce that backup target:
Open up dvd shrink
edit
preferences
If it's set dvd-5/scroll till it's on custom
Enter 4360 mbs
Click ok.

Also keep that burn speed at 4x on this media. It's very good media, but not ty quality.

[CdRomPeripheral : VOM-12E48X atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off] You might want to go to device manager to check this drive,I believe it should be dma-if available. If it says pio,the uninstall, and reboot.

Dvd and DVD Shrink, main movie only= 20 mins to 40 mins on my pc. I have done entire dvd-5's- under 18 minutes-total process time.Initial analyzing takes about 1 minute, unless it is a DVD-9. They take about 2 mins.
