This has probably been asked a million times before, but.
Why is it all of a sudden my burner decides no longer shall it work.
I bought this burner about 3 mths ago, it was working fine, then I decided to remove servicepack 2 off my PC. Now since then every disc is a drink coaster. I use dvdshrink and the nero software that came with the drive.
Does removing service pack 2 have anything to do with my issue?
it may have to do with service pack 2, many things act different with it and with out it, for example my dvd player on my pc was workin nice until i installed service pack 2 it quit, so then i uninstalled service pack 2 and boom, it works again, but then i got my dvd burner. try getting rid of service pack 2, that may be the source of your problem.
Thanks for that. I updated the firmware but still the same problem. so what I am doing now is I have formatted both my HHD's and done a fresh install of windows XP.
I am also downloading fresh copies of DVDshrink and Nero so fingers crossed I won't have anymore drink coasters.
yes, formatting the hard drives you mean by wiping them clean and the fresh install should help it work but DO NOT INSTALL service pack 2, i wont cuz i dont know what issues it is gonna cause. This should work, let me know what happens!! im interested, thanks
A friend of mine on a/d has this exact burner.
Sony Dru-710A
The problem is it wont burn any media +r or -r
(preffered -r) at 1x speed.
(whatever speed you pick it will automatically
burn at 4x)
All of the firmware has been updated.
has anyone else had this problem?
is there any way to drop the burn speed down?
