im trying to backup nfl & nhl 2005 using dvd decryptor and using alochol120% but am unsuccessful has anyone managed to do it?

It's Dual Layer, isn't it? It wont work if it's dual layer.

Put it in your DVD Drive, then go to my computer, then go to DVD drive and just hover the mouse over the disc drive and it will tell you the size of the disc. Or Open it up in DVD Decrypter and check the size.

what size am i looking for to know if a ps2 game is dual layered? what are single layered ps2 games disc size?

I think single layer DVDs hold up to 4.7 gbs of information while dual layer holds up to 8 or 9...

You can check the size of the image that you create on your computer to see whether or not a game is on a single or dual layer dvd.

size < 700mb -> cd
size < 4.7gb -> single layer dvd
size > 4.7gb -> dual layer dvd

so 4.8gb and above is dual layered? due you know if there is software available which just lets you do a straight forward backup of a dual layered ps2 game?

There both EA games they will have some kind of protection on them. Just use alcohol 120 don't bother with dvd decryptor just make an image of the game then burn it. Make sure you choose the PS2 setting in the drop down box. hope that helps

im not sure ive seen a drop down menu where you can choose ps2, will have a look tho, kind regards to everyone for all your help.

it would be useful if someone created a list of ps2 games which are dual-layered, or if a company could release a piece of backup software which just allows you to take a straight forward back of a game.
