I tried copying the movie using DVD shrink and about 15% analysis it stops dead cold. I tried both DVD-Rom and DVD-RW drives..same thing. I even tried another copy of the disc and still the same. anyone had a similar problem? any suggestions?

i made another posts of this to find out that sony came up with new protection on their disc. Mine stopped at 15 % as well. but apparently the new decryptor will get by it.
open decryptor....select mode...select IFO...select the option with the length of the movie...select copy to hard drive...that will create a vts folder for you to analyse by using DVD Shrink...take it from there like always. have fun

now try to use DVD Shrink to compress it. from there use decryptor again to burn the iso image. or you can leave it as a vts folder and burn it with Nero. hopefully this works.

Well guys have good news, I think. First, you all know this already, but just a reminder. You can only back up videos you own. Anyway, that's the legal stuff, lol. Let me start by saying was successful on downloading files to harddrive, and able to copy files to dvd+rw and view movie on PC. No!!!!, I didn't try it on my stand alone dvd player, because is unable to read dvd+rw. Here's what did to copy Resident Evil Apocalypse: 1. place dvd in tray 2. open DVD Decrypter 3. Make sure you check file, on the tool bar, uder mode 4. go to file on tool bar and go to decrypt. It took me appro. 20 minutes to copy files. You should have a file on hard drive appro. 4.G . Use Nero and burn files, that simple hope it helps you. Luck to all.

I had a problem with "my" copy of RE2 as well, and found the workable answer in another of these forums. It was to use VOB Blanker first, then using Dvdshrink to create the DVD. VOB Blanker doesn't get hung on the files like using Dvdshrink alone does. Let VOB Blanker create its files to a temp directory you make, then point Dvdshrink to that directory instead of a dvd as the source. It will then recompile the files like it usually does in its ever so magnificant manner.

Jesus Christ don't you people read anything around here. The new version of Decryptor was designed just for RE2 and Little Black Book protections. Just use the damn program already and quit worrying about all those other workarounds.

Just gotta chime in on this.I had the same problem as I assume most folks did, dvdshrink would analyse till it got to 14% then freeze.I tryed dvdtodvix and dvdidle.Couldnt figure them out.VobBlanker 1.6.0.3 was the the savior did like Emokid said but I couldn't get the program to except the output folder to be residentevil2 so I made it a new folder. After it processed the dvd into the folder I opened dvdshrink then clicked open files. Then backed it up as I normaly would without a hitch. It analysed and encoded and shrank and burned.
