its possible to play backups with the new slimline ps2. go to swapmagic3.com and look there.. i saw they have it.

the swap magic sets are a hassle because you have to swap the disc. if you just want the disc to boot up get a modchip. i recomend www.mod-chip.com

ya if you want to take your chances in the laser burning out...but for safety, i would go with the SM 3.3 until they have a safe/clean solution for the modchips for the slimline consoles...

bmxer4lyf has a point, when you install the modchip you also have to install the laserfix. its just up to you. if you have experience and think you could install a mod, go with it but other wise get the Swap Magik

ya i have that fliptop and the SM 3.3 discs, and they work flawlessly together...iv played over 30 games...
( reccomended :P )
