DVD Playback from pc to TV/Projector

I am not able to play a DVD on my computer using the s-vid or rca outputs on my graphics card. I have tried several differnet players (as well as 2 computers) and cant get it to work correctly. I have used windvd6, powerdvd, and windows media player 10. My system is as follows:
AMD Barton 2200+
ATI Radeon 900 pro Graphics
512mg ram
Sony 16x DVD-rw drive

I am also having this same problem with the laptop at work and the projector there. If anyone has any ideas or comments I would appreciate it.
