What determines read rate. I'm using dvd decrypter on two different pc's. Both with same cpus, hard drives but the only difference is the burners. One is a plextor internal and the other is hp external.

On the two I get extremly different read rates. The plextor is around 5-8x and the hp is around 1-2x.

What is the problem, and can I make them faster because the read rate on both the burners are well past those times.
