Is the swap magic 3.0 DVD compatible with the new PS2 is I get one of thosed SLimtools for it or do I need a new 3.3 version.

yeah, it should work. all versions of the dvd work, just the cd's that are the problem.

i've just noticed that i actually have the version 2.0 dvd and 3.0 cd swap magic. Will I need to new 3.3 for my slimline ps2?

Well give the dvd v2.0 a try in your slim ps2, if it works fine then your good. However, my ps2 had trouble reading the dvd 2.0,..reads the 3.0 just fine though.
