Greetings: Fellow posters,


I used dvd shrink and nero with "almost" positive results. When nero was burning the disc it stated: burn process failed at 4x(5,540kb/s). By the way I was burning Star Trek: Generations using the free trial version of nero. Please help me I wasted enough discs already.

You could try DVD Decrypter to see if Nero is not the problem.

EDIT>PREFERENCES>FILE I/O>disable burning with nero
then when prompted select "burn with decrypter"

You might also want to try burning at 2x as that can be a problem sometimes. Also check the quality of your discs. Bad discs can be the root of many problems. You can download dvdinfopro at http://www.dvdinfopro.com to check out who actually made your disc and then look here http://digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm to see how good they are.

Nero creates a log when you burn. Posting a copy of the log would be helpful. If you didn't keep it, use an RW so you don't waste any media and try the recording again to get the log. Then post the log here.
