not enough disc space when i burn dvd's

I am running into a problem with trying to burn troy
i get it all the way thru the process and when it is time to burn the dvd it says to get a disc with more sace i am using the sony dvd-r 4.7gb 120min anyone have any sugestions

Need more details to help you here my friend... as in what process?? What program are you using to rip, compress, and burn with???

My SWAG for you (scientific wild-ass guess) would be to grab DVD Shrink, I neat little freeware program, that, as the name implys, Shrinks your movie to... GASP!!! Fit on a smaller disc!!! (will wonders never cease??) LOL! No seriously that's what you should do if you aren't already using it. Welcome to AD!! :)
